Welcome

The CCCU PGCE Secondary course is designed to help you become an outstanding teacher. Its approach to learning and education involves you as an active participant responsible for monitoring your professional development.

Your selection to be part of our PGCE course clearly shows our belief in your qualities as a teacher. You will need dedication, enthusiasm and resilience to make the most of your PGCE, and we, as your tutors, are here to guide you in your progression to being an outstanding beginner teacher. On behalf of all my colleagues in the School of Teacher Education, we wish you a warm welcome to our PGCE course and look forward to meeting you in person in September.

Getting started

Our Welcome Pack outlines all pre-course preparation tasks. We expect you to complete these before you start the course. We will add to the list of activities as we approach the start date, so please check back regularly to see what your next task might be.

We will also use the Notice Board in the Welcome Pack to update you with course timetables, start dates, etc., as they become available.

Bursary/Scholarship

Students who are registered on an eligible Teacher Training Course may be offered a Department for Education training bursary. To allow the University to assess your eligibility for the bursary could we please ask you to fill in the bursary eligibility declaration prior to starting your course.
