Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is the awarding institution your course. This means that even though you are studying at Stratford College, you are officially a student of Canterbury Christ Church University. This arrangement enables you to access to a wide range of support from both institutions, however it also means you must adhere to both institution’s terms and conditions. We have no doubt that you have made the right choice, and we will be with you every step of the way during the next four years of your study.

During your studies, you will receive most of your support from Stratford College. However, Canterbury Christ Church University provides with the following:

  • Access to LibrarySearch, which gives you access to thousands of e-books, e-journals and databases to help you in your studies
  • Access to online modules on a wide range of study topics via our Learning Skills Hub
  • A Canterbury Christ Church University email address and computing account.
  • Access to MyRecord, Canterbury Christ Church University’s student portal, where you will:

- register for each subsequent year of study

- update contact details like your personal email & phone number

- access your academic results.

Getting started

Starting university can be daunting but fret not as this is completely normal. We understand that you have made a big step to achieving your future goals investing time, money, and energy to this degree.

This course offers a diverse array of learning methods, teaching styles, and assessment approaches. Your learning experience will encompass engaging lectures, hands-on practical classes, collaborative workshops, and interactive seminars. To thrive in this course, you will dive into an environment that encourages both informative study and active participation. Whenever needed, you will receive guidance on suggested reading materials to enhance your learning journey. Applying this knowledge involves working through case studies and similar exercises, allowing you to bridge classroom teachings to real-world business scenarios.

Many of you come with valuable organizational experience, which greatly enriches our discussions and understanding of the concepts explored in this course. Your real-world exposure adds depth to the theoretical foundations we'll study.

The academic year is structured in semesters, and you will study three modules in each one.

Level 0

Semester 1 – Core

  • Contemporary Issues in Business and Management and Marketing (20cr)
  • Contemporary Issues in Accounting (20cr)

Semester 2- Core

  • Personal and Career Development (20cr)
  • Contemporary Issues in Law (20cr)
  • Individual Project (20cr)

Level 4

Semester 1- Core

  • Academic Skill for Business and Management (20cr)
  • Economics (20-cr)
  • Introduction to Marketing (20cr)

Semester 2 – Core

  • Business Information and Analysis (20cr)
  • Introductory Accounting and Finance for Business (20cr)
  • Managing People in Organisations (20cr)

Level 5

Semester 1 - Core

  • Employee Development and Employee Relations (20cr)
  • Project Management (20cr)

Plus - you will be asked to choose one of the following:

We care about you being at ease and confident about your studies and not worried. Before your course commences you will be invited to registration week where you will find details and activities allowing you to familiarise yourselves with the way we teach and the way we will support you all the way through. Attending this week will not only help you become familiar with our approach but also offers an opportunity to begin forming valuable connections and friendships.

Pre-course reading

It is very good practice to understand the news and what is happening in the world. It will help with your studies and it will help you perform better at interview. Why not start by spending five minutes each day reading BBC Business News? Once you start attending classes, you can make the most of your free subscription to the Financial Times.

Given that you have worked very hard to get into University, we recommend that you spend some time to prepare yourself for your transition to higher education.
