Staff from the University’s School and College Engagement Team joined the Universities Minister, Michelle Donelan on Wednesday 1 July at the official launch of the new national schools activity hub, Uni4me.
Uni4me is a new, online hub which will offer support including virtual online and blended learning courses, online tuition and support in core GCSE and A Level subjects, plus Live events involving leading academics, students and specialist HE advisors.
The online hub is led by the National Education Opportunities Network (NEON) and funded by the participating organisations.
During her keynote speech, the Universities Minister, Michelle Donelan said that “in order to tackle the gaps in achievement and higher education progression between groups of learners, and ensure they don’t widen because of the impact of Covid-19, new, innovative forms of collaboration at the national level will be essential. Uni4me, is a prime example of this kind of collaboration.”
"We understand how hard it has been for young people, their parents and teachers to access resources during the pandemic so we are delighted that our activities feature on this new online portal that is full of resources to help pupils with attainment as well as their journey to university. "
Jayme added: "We have been delivering over 55 virtual webinars and conferences to support our local community since the start of lockdown and will continue to do so until schools are in a position to welcome us back on to their premises.”
