The University is sponsoring Pride Canterbury 2023 and we’re so excited to be able to celebrate this joyful event once again with our University and Canterbury community.

This year’s Pride Canterbury is planned to take place over two days on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June 2023, with a parade through Canterbury High Street as well as stalls and live entertainment in the Dane John Gardens.

What’s On at Pride Canterbury 2023?

Pride Canterbury is a wonderful event that allows us to show support for each other without discrimination or prejudice, to bond as a community, and come together to celebrate equality and progress, and we’d like to invite all staff to join in the festivities.

We have requested 100 places for the Parade, which will be allocated on a first come, first serves basis. You can use the request form below to request how many places you would like for yourself, plus any friends and family.

Request places for the Parade - deadline is 2nd June 2023

Expect Respect

As part of Pride we want to take the opportunity to encourage students and staff to take our expect respect pledge. Canterbury Christ Church University and the Students’ Union believe all students, staff and visitors have the right to live, study and work in a safe and supportive environment, free from discrimination, bullying or harassment of any form.

We believe that we all have a part to play in creating inclusive and welcoming campuses, free from harassment. We can take positive action in a number of ways to educate ourselves, reflect on our own behaviour and challenge behaviour in others.

We actively encourage staff and students to report any harassment or sexual misconduct they experience through our Report and Support platform. If you have witnessed, been impacted by or experienced harassment, we are here to support you.
