Canterbury Christ Church University is launching a new partnership with Comax Life Sciences who will be collaborating at the University's Life Sciences Industry Liaison Lab to investigate new ways to combat the transmission of diseases.
Their aim is to create scientific solutions to improve quality of life, working with academics from the School of Psychology and Life Sciences Dr Cornelia Wilson, Dr Lee Byrne and new Masters student Stefana Aprotosoaei, to provide novel, valuable insights into the techniques used to challenge the spread of infection. As part of the collaboration, Comax Life Sciences will also be funding a Masters Degree in Science (MSc) By Research.
The Life Sciences Industry Liaison Lab allows students and staff to link-up with companies working at the cutting edge of research, helping to find solutions that lead to new treatments and ground-breaking discoveries.
The labs provide the University and its students with first-class facilities for science and research and is an added resource for local businesses.

By bringing together business, research and innovation we can hope here with the University and the Discovery Park to make positive steps and reduce the future impact of such diseases, whilst at the same time helping the next generation of young scientists push the frontiers of knowledge forward to help alleviate the pain and suffering caused by disease and poverty.”
Dr Cornelia Wilson, Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Life Sciences, said: “This is a great opportunity to not only support a Master student but also to be part of Comax’s journey to help to combat the transmission of diseases.
