The University is looking to reconnect with students who attended from 1975 to 1979.

The Alumni Relations Team are launching a campaign to find students who studied on the first-degree programmes including Bachelor of Education, BA English with Religious Studies, MSc in Physics and Education and diplomas in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

The University, then known as Christ Church College, first opened its doors in 1962 as a teacher training college in response to a national shortage of Church of England school teachers.

Today, over 20,000 students study a range of subjects across the arts, humanities, education, science and engineering, social sciences, medicine, health and social care, at three campuses in Canterbury, Medway and Tunbridge Wells, and through partnerships in the UK and around the world. The University’s recently opened £65m STEM facilities and £12m Creative Arts building are helping to generate highly skilled graduates for the region, supporting the regional economy and growth in science, healthcare, and the creative and digital industries.

Over the next few weeks the University’s Alumni Relations team will be hoping to jog people’s memories with the release of archive photos from the 1970s shared across different social media channels in hope to locate and reconnect students for a special reunion event on 28 September.

If you studied at Canterbury Christ Church University during the 1970’s, and would like to reconnect and reminisce about your time as a student with us, get in touch with our Alumni Relations team.
