Your opinions are important to us, and we want to hear them. Become a member of the student voice research panel.

If you can spare a little time every now and then to tell us what you think by completing online surveys and participating in focus group discussions, then you could make a difference.

The Student Voice Research Panel is a made up of students like you to provide occasional feedback on all aspects of the student experience. The feedback we collect through the Student Voice Research Panel will help inform decisions made throughout the University from recruitment, marketing, communications, events to courses.

We like to show our appreciation to our students for participating in our research, and so we typically offer a prize draw for completing a survey and offer an incentive of £10-20 for focus group research.

Anyone who is a current Christ Church student can join. All you need to do is complete a short survey telling us about you. This will help ensure that we only contact panel members about research that is relevant to them.

Student Voice Panel

Further Information

What is a student research panel?

The Student Voice Research Panel is a group of students who have agreed to form a ready-made research panel to provide occasional feedback about all aspects of their student experience at Christ Church, from how they communicated with the University before arrival through to all aspects of University life throughout their time at the University.

Canterbury Christ Church University runs a variety of research projects throughout the year which help inform decisions made around the University in areas such as recruitment, marketing, communications, events, courses and student support. So, you can see how important it is for the student voice to contribute to these decisions.

Throughout the year panel members will receive invites to participate in surveys, focus-groups or online discussion boards. Students can choose which, if any, of these they would like to participate in. There is no obligation to take part in any activity although we would love you to get involved as much as possible when you are able to.

Will I be paid?

We like to thank students for participating in each exercise. We typically offer a prize draw for each survey (unless they are very short), and if we ask for your time in a focus group we offer a financial incentive of between £10-£20 depending on the length of time required (typically 1-2 hours online or on-campus).

Who runs the Student Voice Research Panel?

The student research panel is run by the Market Insight Team at Christ Church.

Who can join?

Anyone who is a current student at Christ Church can join the Student Voice Research Panel by completing a short survey, which is used to create our database.

What will I have to do?

Being a member of the research panel means that you might be asked to take part in online surveys and focus groups with other students. All you will need to do is tell us what you think!

Past examples of research with student includes an online survey into what students think about the online pre-arrival information and current students’ webpages and focus groups on how students would describe the Christ Church brand and the University’s key personality.

If there is a research project that we think you could help us with then we will email you using the email address you provide in the Student Voice Research Panel Survey.

How long will my details be held on the Student Voice Research Panel database?

Your details will be held for the academic year and at the end of this we will contact you to ask if you are still studying at the Christ Church, and ask if you would like to remain on the panel for the next academic year.

If you want to remain on the panel you will need to complete a survey that tells us a bit about you by a specified deadline. This will be similar, if not the same, as the survey you originally completed. The reason we will ask you to complete the survey is to ensure we have the most up-to-date information about you and re-confirm your agreement to being on the panel.

Once the deadline for completing the survey has passed, the previous years survey will be deleted, and we will only contact those students who have completed the current year’s survey about research projects.

What if I change my mind?

If at any time you decide that you no longer want to be on the student research panel and wish to withdraw your consent for your details being held for the purpose of the Student Panel, just email us at marketresearch@canterbury.ac.uk with your details and we’ll remove you from our database.

Who do I contact if I have any questions or concerns?
