A virtual reality ‘Shopping Task’ could help test for cognitive decline in adults

New research from Kent and Medway Medical School and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London suggests that a virtual reality test in which participants ‘go to the shops’ could offer a potentially promising way of effectively assessing functional cognition, the thinking, and processing skills needed to accomplish complex everyday activities.

Majority of councils in Kent and Medway support students at new Medical School

Our local councils in Kent and Medway have been quick to recognise the impact the new Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) will have on their communities, as well as the importance of recruiting a medical workforce more representative of the community it serves. More than half of these councils are now generously supporting local students to access and complete a medical education, by providing a philanthropic scholarship to a promising student from their own region.

Pioneering research in Diagnostic Radiography

For more than 30 years Dr Keith Piper has been leading and developing pioneering research in Diagnostic Radiography, playing a key role in the development of clinical reporting by radiographers since its inception in the mid-1990s. He has presented at academic conferences across the globe, and has been awarded the Fellowship of the Society and College of Radiographers in recognition of his outstanding contribution to radiography.
