With spring on the horizon, we’re excited to share all the great activities you can get involved in this month! From 24/7 library access to career opportunities, wellbeing events, and student celebrations—March is packed with ways to support your academic journey and student life.
There are lots of ways for you to look after your wellbeing this month:
Ramadan
We are here to support our Muslim students during Ramadan. Join the CCCU community for a vibrant Iftar gathering to celebrate together on 21 March, 5.30 – 8pm in Augustine Hall.
Sensory room open in Augustine House
The new sensory room is now open! With adjustable lighting, comfortable seating, and a range of ways to control your sensory experience, students can reset between studying or social sessions. Find it on the ground floor of Augustine House behind the Library Point in room AHg.03a.
Library open 24/7
To support you in the run up to and during assessments, Augustine House will be open 24/7 from 3 March – 23 May, excluding the Easter weekend. See full opening hours on the library website.
Advent assessment results
You may have seen your marks posted in Blackboard, but those don’t necessarily reflect your final results. Courses on semester calendars will be able to access their advent results this month.w/c 3 March. You will be notified via your university email when you can view them in MyRecord (in ‘My Assessments’, under the ‘My Studies’ tab). Make sure you check them and plan your next steps to success.
National careers week, 3 – 7 March
Celebrate National Careers Week on Handshake, your online careers platform. Access free resources and workshops, network with potential employers, and book one-to-one career guidance.
Postgraduate opportunities
Thinking about teaching? Find out more Verena Holmes main entrance 13 March, 10:30am-3.00pm. Pop by for an informal chat with Suzanne Hawley from the Department for Education to find out about routes into teaching
Celebrating Student Industry Projects
Are you working on an industry-based project for your course? Students can receive cash rewards of up to £1,500 for their curriculum-based industry projects. Unitemps is taking nominations for student industry projects in three categories: innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
