The newly published data reveals 92.9% of all Canterbury Christ Church graduates from the 2023/24 cohort, were in work 15 months after finishing their course. This ranks the University second among large UK universities* compared to the national average of 87%.

The Graduate Outcomes survey is the UK’s largest annual social survey capturing the status of recent graduates. The recent survey also shows:

96.1% of Canterbury Christ Church University students that had studied on a postgraduate course were in work 15 months after finishing their course, which ranks the University sixth among large UK universities**
The proportion of Canterbury Christ Church University students that had studied on an undergraduate course going into high-skilled employment has risen to 70.6% and is now 1.6 percentage points ahead of the sector for graduates in high-skilled employment.

Professor Claire Ozanne, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Canterbury Christ Church University, commented on the latest survey results: “Canterbury Christ Church University has consistently demonstrated that it is a place where students can truly enhance their career prospects. To once again be recognised as one of the leading universities in the UK for graduates in employment is an outstanding achievement and reflects the value of a Canterbury Christ Church University education.

“We are immensely proud of all our students and graduates for their hard work and ambition as they become the next generation of a skilled professionals, making a positive contribution to our local, national and international communities.

“We are equally proud of our staff, whose commitment to provide high quality teaching and strong industry partnerships ensures employability is embedded throughout the student experience. This ensures our graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed in their chosen careers.”

Over the past few years, the University has made major investments in cutting-edge and industry-standard facilities across creative and digital arts, science, engineering, health and medicine, ensuring students graduate with the hands-on experience, technical expertise and confidence needed to thrive in today’s fast-moving and competitive job market.

Alongside its investment in facilities, the University has also recently introduced new bite-sized success and employability modules across all courses. The success modules are designed to help students transition smoothly into university life while building essential skills such as critical thinking and digital literacy. Meanwhile, employability modules give students the opportunity to work on real-world projects, apply their learning in practical settings, and gain industry experience to help develop the personal, professional and technical skills employers are actively seeking.

The Graduate Outcomes Survey success come in the same week as the University saw a significant rise in its overall position in the Complete University Guide, as well as improving its rankings in 17 different subjects.
