How to get the most out of the Student Facebook Group
28 Apr 2025
Are you starting university this September and want to get ready, make friends and feel prepared?
We’re here to help and support you throughout your time at CCCU so you have the best experience possible and achieve your goals. To help you feel confident about starting university, we have created a closed Facebook Group for September Arrivals 2025 where we will be posting regular updates and information leading up to your start date, including welcome events and must do tasks so you can get involved and feel prepared from the beginning.
The Facebook Group is designed to help you on your journey to CCCU. So here are the top ways you can get the most out of the Facebook group:
Everyone in this group is new to CCCU just like you, so why not introduce yourself and start the year with a new friend or two. Start a conversation, join in on discussions, share your experiences, take part in polls and get involved so you feel part of the CCCU community before you arrive!
So that you do not miss key posts we will make sure we pin them to the featured area at the top of the group. Have a scroll through on a regular basis to catch up on all the latest updates.
Our guides are another way to catch up on key posts on specific themes, so you don't miss out on the things that matter most to you. These will be added to periodically - so keep checking back! Our guides are have information on:
To make it easier for you to find others who are studying the same subject areas, going to the same accommodation, have the same pathway or same background we have created a range of chats.
Chats seamlessly blends Facebook Messenger into the Groups allowing you to have real-time conversations with those you share a common interest or ask questions that may not be relevant to the whole Group.
You can join only those you are interested in, block any in your messenger you don't want to be part of and manage the notifications to suit you. If you want to leave a chat, you can do so simply by clicking the chat name and choosing to leave.
At CCCU we expect respect and compassion. Please be kind to one another. Keep your personal information safe, respect other participants' privacy and post in a positive way. If you are ever concerned about the behaviour of others, you can report this confidentially via the Group.
Please feel free to share information and ask each other questions.
If you have a query about the University or its processes the i-zone, our student information service, are here to help. You can contact them directly via email i- zone@canterbury.ac.uk or phone 01227 922222.
Please note that University staff will not be able to respond to Facebook direct messages.
We are delighted that we are an international University welcoming students from around the world.
We appreciate that studying in the UK is a big step, so we have a dedicated CCCU CampusConnect App to help you connect with other international student offer holders planning to start at the University in September. Join this online community to share experiences and make friends. Plus, there are a range of live online events where you can learn more about what it is like to study at CCCU. You can also join our International Facebook Group for dedicated information, updates, and tips especially for you.
We want you to get the most out of this group, so we invite you to engage with your peers, ask questions, and become part of the CCCU community before you arrive on campus.
So, what are you waiting for? Join the September Arrivals 2025 Facebook Group today!
Please note, you will be asked to provide your STUDENT ID in order to verify your request to join.
