We know that the cost of living is affecting everyone, and in partnership with the Students' Union, we are working together to support each other.

The Students' Union Mary Seacole Building

The Students’ Union is your space on the Canterbury campus - a warm, welcoming, and non-commercial environment where you can relax, meet friends, and take a well-deserved break from your studies. This is a hub with lots of support with the rising cost of living:

  • The Canterbury Campus Pantry
If you’re experiencing a food crisis you can request a free, nutritious, meal via ccsu.co.uk and collect it at the SU Reception. The team there will also guide you toward long-term financial support through the Student Wellbeing Team if needed.

  • The Breakfast Club
Start your mornings right with the Student Breakfast Club, running Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 11:00am. Help yourself to toast, spreads, and cereal - everything you need to fuel up for the day ahead.

  • Free Hot Drinks!
Need a break? The Students’ Union is where you’ll find free tea and coffee dispensed from our drinks machine all day, every day - thanks to a partnership between Christ Church Students’ Union and Lost Sheep Coffee.

  • Heat and Eat
The Students’ Union is also one of many ‘heat and eat’ stations in Canterbury, so you’ll find a cozy kitchen with a fridge, microwaves, and boiling water.

In addition, the Students' Union works closely with the University to make sure free period and sexual health products are available at all campus locations, ensuring that no student is left without essential support.
