Find out why our alumni chose to study at CCCU.

1. Skills to last a lifetime

The things you will learn at CCCU will stay with you for a lifetime and will prove useful throughout your career.

“I studied Radio, Film, and Television, combined with History, graduating in 1991. I learned skills I’m using 30 years on in a varied media and marketing career, and I will also be forever grateful for the experiences, friendships, and confidence I gained over three years in Canterbury.”
– Clare Newsome

I studied Graphic Design at the Broadstairs campus. Day one of my course I didn’t know how to use an iMac, let alone any of the creative cloud software. I am now a Graphic Designer at KidZania London, which I adore!
– Amy Brewer

2. The start of a great career path

The skills you learn and the people you meet at University will help you take the first steps into your future.

I loved every minute of Uni life and living in Canterbury. Whenever I’m back in the UK I visit where I can. My time there really was a step to allow me to succeed in life. Career wise I started in tourism in the UK at TUI UK for three years, before travelling around the world and settling in Australia for the past 16 years. This has included many executive level roles and as a Ministerial Advisor. I am also a Board Director for a number of organisations including RSPCA Australia, Red Lily Health, among others.
– Danny Moore

“Take the opportunity to enjoy yourself and gain valuable experience. The experience gained in CCCU has helped me to prepare me not only in teaching but in other areas as well. I am now in Sales in IT industry and will remember my time in CCCU fondly.”
– Ungku Melewa Ahmad

CCCU holds a very special place in my heart. I started my career in Radiography after passing my degree in 1994. I’ve had a very eventful time working for the NHS, then in Europe and, more recently, I have just returned back from Dubai to take early retirement. CCCU was a great place to meet people and experience exercises that set me up for life. If you get the opportunity to study at CCCU I’m sure you are at the start of an exciting adventure.”
– Susie Holmes

3. Making great friends and experiences

Career progression and personal development isn’t the only thing you’ll gain in university. You’ll also develop great friendships and memories.

“I graduated in 1991 after three years of laughter, learning, and loyal friendship that still endure to this day! Canterbury is a lovely place to study and I stayed there for five years after graduation. My time at CCCU was special – embrace all that you are offered.
– Audrey Pantelis

“2003 Marketing & English Lit graduate. Now Chicago based working in media & advertising. To all inbound students, congrats and just be prepared for the best three years of your life to date. Nothing but great memories of my time at CCCU.”
– Jason Guy

4. Great supportive network

Our friendly teams will always support you in your endeavours and help set you off in the right direction.

“Had the most amazing years of my life! It wasn’t an institute but more of a community! I wish new starters the very best!”
– Rinae R.

About to go into my final year of marketing & advertising at CCCU and I couldn’t be happier with the support from the business school over the years, especially giving me advice for placement! I have loved every moment at CCCU!
– Molly Tavernor

5. A chance to succeed

We believe every student can succeed in university, regardless of grades.

“I got my lowest academic grades ever from A Levels and still went on to complete a degree and a PGCE and come out with a First and a Level 7 at CCCU. No matter the results you are always capable of more when pursing your passion. If you are off to uni you will have the best time, and remember to celebrate your achievements!”
– Shauna O’Donnell

“Whilst my A-level results were quite low CCCU really helped me develop my study skills and I ended up leaving with a 2:1.”
– Chrissie Ham
