Martin Bedford, Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing, has been elected Chair of the nurses committee of the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD).
EAHAD is a well-established inter-professional organisation, whose goals are to promote best practice in haemophilia care across Europe through education, scientific research and audit and advocacy.
The principle purpose of the nurses committee is to improve the quality of care to patients with haemophilia by promoting nursing services as a core component of the comprehensive care team. This includes evaluation and bench marking of the haemophilia nursing role across the region, facilitation of effective preparation and education for this role, and encouraging collaborative nursing research.
