The third annual University Arts Fortnight commences on Saturday 30th May inviting the public to engage with art and research projects undertaken by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Canterbury Christ Church University.

A variety of arts events will take place across Canterbury between Saturday 30 May and Saturday 13 June 2015 that are open to everybody.

During the two week period, graduating students from the Fine and Applied Arts and Visual Art and Design degrees will showcase their work in both the Sidney Cooper Gallery and Augustine House building. The forms of artwork on display include painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, film, photography and digital art.

On Saturday 6 June, a special conference in commemoration of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta: Magna Carta, King John and the Civil War , will explore the role Kent played during this pivotal period in English History. The conference will take place in The Old Sessions House building on University’s North Holmes campus.

Bringing the fortnight to a close is a Prom Concert featuring atmospheric and uplifting music created by students and performed by our flagship, professionally-directed ensembles. The concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 13 June in Augustine Hall.

Other events and activities are also taking place across the two week period including a concert in St Gregory’s Centre for Music, an evening of creative writing in the Shakespeare Wine Bar in the City centre and much more.
