Students who enrol on the two year course will receive a £20,000 bursary for each year of the programme as well as having their PGCE and MA fees funded by the Education and Training Foundation.

Andrew Armitage, Head of Department Post Compulsory Education, said: “We are delighted to be selected as one of only three pilots nationally to run the Premium Graduate ITE Programme; the only programme to be run in the South East and the only University chosen. We are looking for outstanding graduates who are experts in their subject specialism to come and train to teach in this exciting sector”.

The programme is designed for those committed to Further Education and Skills sector and who are interested in pursuing a leadership role. Newly qualified teachers will stay in the sector for at least two years after completion of the programme where they will be placed in one of four colleges: Bromley, Mid Kent, Hadlow or East Kent.
