The England Centre for Practice Development will host this year's international joint conference for the Collaborative Action Research Network (CARN) and International Practice Development Collaborative (IPDC).
Carrie Jackson, Director of the England Centre for Practice Development at Canterbury Christ Church University, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this year’s conference, ‘Towards Creative Action: Transformations and Collaborations in Practice’.
“There has been a significant amount of interest both from the UK and international communities ahead of the conference. Over 130 papers were submitted with contributions from over 30 countries. It will provide the University with an opportunity to showcase its strengths in the field of education and health and social care on a global stage, as well demonstrate our work with regional partners.”
The conference will depart from conventional formats of presentation by using creative spaces for delegates to share their work and offer creative approaches to learning and personal development. Emphasis will be placed on participation, inclusion and collaboration with delegates invited to join a number of activities and fringe events that will provide an opportunity to engage with others and promote critical dialogue and debate; discuss concerns and issues arising from practice experience with delegates from other disciplines and share new insights and understandings.
The guest speakers include Professor Ian Stronach, Professor of Education, Liverpool John Moores University; Famke van Lieshout, Faculty of Nursing, Fontys University, Netherlands; Professor Yoland Wadsworth, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and Professor Richard Winter, formerly Professor of Education, Anglia Ruskin University.
Towards Creative Action: Transformations and Collaborations in Practice will be held at the Ashford International Hotel, Ashford, Kent, from the 23 to 25 November 2012.
