The Graduate Show 2012 celebrates the students' achievements and showcases extracts from their final year photographic projects. Students will be exhibiting a wide range of work from their individual portfolios, including examples of portraiture, fine art, landscape and documentary subjects.

One exhibit by Christopher Seaton, called Other People’s Memories looks at the relationship between society and the photographic print. The project seeks to encourage photographs to be printed, so that they can be inscribed and then treasured for a lifetime.

Another project, by Keziah Hughes is inspired by John Everett Millais' painting of 'Ophelia', based on the character from Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. The exhibit is created by floating Polaroid lifts in bowls of water.

Rob Ball, Senior Lecturer in Photography at Canterbury Christ Church University, said: “Our students have engaged with both the theory and practice of the medium to produce a diverse range of artistic responses. The works on show offer the viewer an opportunity to see a variety of ideas explored relating to subjects including memory, sub-culture, myth and psychology.

“Throughout their degrees, our students have used both traditional film and digital media to express their own creative vision. The exhibition is an exciting look at how a new generation of contemporary artists are responding to the ever-changing medium of photography.”

Admission to the show is free of charge. The Sidney Cooper Gallery, St Peter's Street, Canterbury CT1 2BQ, is open to the public Tuesday to Friday, 10:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 11:30am to 5pm. The Exhibition will be closed Sunday and Monday
