Artists of tomorrow: I am Me, on display between 6 January and 18 January 2012, will showcase a variety of pieces chosen by students under the theme of ‘self’.
Using a wide range of artistic processes and materials, the exhibition will celebrate emerging talent from the schools with all pieces exploring an interpretation of self-image.
Hazel Stone, Curator for the Sidney Cooper Gallery, said: “I am Me will bring together a selection of pieces from some fantastic new artists to create an exhibition which will explore a poignant theme for the younger generation.
“Self-image is a topic which is interpreted so uniquely between young people and I’m looking forward to seeing the variety of works all selected by the students themselves at the gallery next month.”
The six secondary schools involved in this year’s exhibition include, The Canterbury High School, Herne Bay High, Homewood School, Kent College, Weald of Kent and The Archbishop’s School.
