I am the Programme Director for the Masters degree in Nursing (Adult and Mental Health fields).

I undertook my Diploma in Nursing at the Frances Harrison College of Health Care, part of the University of Surrey, qualifying in 1995 and on qualifying  I worked in various clinical posts within Cancer Care across Kent and Surrey. In 2003 I joined Canterbury Christ Church University as a lecturer practitioner in Cancer Care. I received my Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice (Cancer Nursing) from the University of Surrey in 2004 and I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in 2005. I am also the module leader for an enquiry based learning module in the Undergraduate Pre-Registration Adult Nursing Programme.

I am a reviewer for the European Journal of Oncology Nursing, and Cancer Nursing Practice.

Research and knowledge exchange

I am currently undertaking a a PhD study entitled Lesbian Cancer Voices. A Queer Feminist Narrative Inquiry into the Lived Experiences of Being Lesbian with Cancer.

My research uses intersectional feminist and queer theory to explore the lived experiences of marginalised people with health care needs, and how nursing practice can better hear these voices
