Profile summary

I joined the School of Nursing as a full-time lecturer in February 2016. I teach on pre-registration BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) modules, the Managing Risk CPD module, and I am the module lead for the Foundation Degree module Fundamental Phases in Care.

Prior to this appointment I was working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Osteoporosis and Falls. In addition to assessing, diagnosing and planning care for people with osteoporosis and/or falls I was involved in improving hospital inpatient safety through incident investigation, staff education and facilitating cultural change. My background is in emergency care, working in Accident and Emergency departments first as a staff nurse and then as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP).

My areas of interest are the health and well-being of older adults, clinical governance, emergency care and advanced nursing practice.
