About the School

The Allied and Public Health Professions are at the heart of health and wellbeing – working separately and interprofessionally in integrated teams, our professions can make such a difference to peoples’ lives and the environment in which we live.

We have teaching expertise and specific specialists in fields relevant to Diagnostic RadiographyOccupational TherapyOperating Department Practice, Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science, and Public Health and Health Promotion, as well as interprofessional education. The School has a partnership with ABDO College for Ophthalmic Dispensing education, and collaborations with international partners for education and research.

Located at our Canterbury campus, within a World Heritage site, and Medway campus very close to London, we have extensive, modern clinical simulated learning suites and study facilities. You, as our students, matter to us. We have excellent learning and teaching approaches to help with learning, taking research-informed clinical reasoning into practice to help you support individuals, and service providers.

Staff lead or are involved with research and enterprise projects, some national and international and others working with local stakeholders to meet local needs.  Students may be involved in some parts of these research projects.  We also encourage a global understanding of health contexts and have opportunities for students to join international visits and where relevant the associated projects.
