Profile summary

I am the Learning & Research Librarian supporting the Faculty for Health and Wellbeing, a role that I job-share with Michelle Crowther.

I began my career in information science with work experience in my local public library. After my first degree I undertook a library graduate trainee scheme at University College London and gained my MA in Library and Information Studies from UCL in 2002. During my career I have supported a range of subjects in roles such as the assistant librarian in a hospice, managing a learning resource centre at a drama school and supporting staff and students in health care professions.

In my role I collaborate with academic and professional services staff to embed subject-specific information and digital literacy skills in to the curriculum. I aim to help students learn to be critical seekers, readers and users of information so they can make evidence based decisions in both their professional and personal life.

I have completed the University Certificate in Academic Practice (UCAP) and I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am currently studying the Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).

I am a Chartered member of the Chartered Instititute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and engage in a revalidation programme.
