Noisy Neighbours

We want to make sure that our libraries offer you a great learning and study environment. We ask all our library users to respect the right of others to work quietly in the library.

Check our Study Spaces page to see if the area you are working is designated as Silent, Quiet, Group Study or Social Study.

During staffed hours in Augustine House you can report problems you experience with noise using the form linked below (link to our opening hours). Outside of these hours, please alert Security at Reception who will address your concern.

Augustine House Opening hours and Library Point availability: https://www.canterbury.ac.uk/library/opening-hours.aspx

Please note we do not have control over people’s study or personal habits. Therefore, we are not able to take action on behaviours such as sniffing, coughing, typing loudly, eating noisily. Please see our student code of conduct for more information on working together to create a respectful environment.

A member of library or security staff will visit the location you are working in as soon as possible. To ensure that we are efficient in responding, please refrain from submitting multiple complaints.

In order to respond and update you we require your name and email address. This information is for staff only and will not be shared. All data received on this form is handled in accordance with the Canterbury Christ Church University and Library and Learning Resources Department privacy notice

Please be aware that any inappropriate comments will be reported in accordance with university policy and may result in action being taken.
