Appeal against Library fines

Please complete this form if you wish to appeal against any fines on your library account. Remember to fill in all of the required information and try to be as specific as possible—the more information we have the better placed we are to judge your appeal fairly.

Please ensure you have returned all overdue books before submitting your appeal.

Please note that the following will not be accepted as reasons for appealing a fine

  • Lack of understanding of the Library loans and returns policy
  • Non-receipt of an email notice - due date reminders and fine notices are sent as a courtesy only
  • Forgetting due dates - these are available to view on LibrarySearch under "My Account" and "Checkouts"
  • Disagreement with the library fines structure
  • Materials loaned to a third party
  • Out of town, overseas, vacations, field trips, placement
  • Failure to return a book which has been reserved by another user
  • Compulsory fields *

  • Please tell us why we should waive your fines. State clearly the individual items that you are disputing providing any relevant dates. Documentation to qualify claims for mitigating circumstances, e.g. medical certificate, statements from tutor/line manager, screenshots, can be added via the browse box below.
