Profile summary

I am the Learning and Research Librarian for the School of Arts and Creative Industries.

I help students to find, evaluate and effectively use appropriate information for their studies. I can also advise on ways to make referencing easier. Information and digital literacy is not only vital to succeeding with assessments, it is also invaluable in life, outside of and after university. I enjoy finding new ways to help support students to reach their full potential, whether through teaching, creating online resources or one-to-one tutorials.

I collaborate with academics on curriculum design by suggesting ways to develop students’ information and digital literacy, capabilities referred to in the Learning and Teaching Strategy, Graduate Attributes and Digital Learning Thresholds.

I am a passionate researcher and I enjoy helping students and academics to develop their research skills and understanding of Open Access. I studied at the University of Kent where I gained a BA Joint Honours in English and History, an MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies and a PhD in the field of gender studies within early modern literature and culture.

I have worked in a variety of libraries including at the University for the Creative Arts, Lambeth Palace Library, LSE and the University of Kent before joining CCCU as the Faculty Liaison Librarian for Social and Applied Sciences. I completed my MA in Information and Library Management at Northumbria University and I am also a member of CILIP. I have since undertaken the Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
