Profile summary

I am the Learning & Research Librarian supporting the Business School, School of Psychology & Life Sciences, and the Law, Policing and Politics programmes.

I joined CCCU in 1988 as an Assistant Librarian (Resources) after gaining my Postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship at Manchester Polytechnic. I became a chartered librarian in 1991, after submitting my Professional Development Report to the Library Association (now CILIP).

After representing the Arts and Humanities Faculty for many years, I moved to Business and Law in March 2017 as part of the recent organisational restructure of Library and Learning Resources. Since January 2019 – and following another restructure – I have also been the support librarian for Psychology, Politics, Geography and Life Sciences.

I work in collaboration with academic staff to integrate information and digital literacy skills into their programmes, teaching these lifelong learning skills which will contribute towards their employability.

I have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP). As part of this course I embarked on a research project of my own, relating to the use of technology to enhance information literacy teaching in the curriculum.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
