Education students on school experience: Part B: Personal and professional development

Assess your learning

Read the descriptions of each of these education students and think about what they could do to get information or support in their situations. Note your ideas, then submit to compare your answers with some of the suggestions.

Reflect on your learning

Consider the learning outcomes for this module:

  • To learn about classroom-based research and develop your research skills
  • To become aware of sources to support your own professional development as teachers and education professionals
  • To know where to find extra support from the university and wider teaching community and to look after your own wellbeing

Do you feel more confident in each of these areas?

Write down two actions that you could take now.
For example: identify a relevant professional teaching journal and commit to reading it regularly; think about any area where you might want additional help or advice and contact the relevant support person/service.
