The Centre has pursued a wide range of projects exploring the benefits of active participation in creative arts for health and wellbeing. Many of our projects have involved work with older people living with long-term health conditions including respiratory illness, dementia and Parkinson's, as well as working with their carers. We have also explored the benefits of singing in relation to mental health.

The Centre has produced a range of key publications since its inception in 2005, touching on themes of cultural and societal benefit such as wellbeing and community.

The Centre has worked with both older and younger people, particularly those living with chronic diseases. We have also worked with specific groups, particularly in relation to singing, such as those involved in the Choir of the Year competition and the Military Wives Choirs.
