Singing for Better Breathing
Evaluation of participants’ experiences of developing a singing for health training resource.
In 2016, following numerous requests from previous project participants and singing group members, the Sidney De Haan Research Centre designed and developed the Singing for Better Breathing Training Resource. Development of the resource involved recording twelve audio tracks sung by singing for health choir members, a film of participants demonstrating warm-up exercises, and numerous filmed interviews with individuals willing to share their experience of using singing to improve and maintain their health.
This project seeks to capture the experiences of the participants who so willingly gave their time to create the resource, and to build on their feedback in order to take forward future projects involving participants as key developers and partners.
