Social Work

Canterbury Christ Church University has been offering social work training and education since 1989. Since then, our portfolio of programmes, research and knowledge transfer activity has continued to grow in response to the diverse and changing needs of the social services and social care sectors locally, nationally and internationally.

Undergraduate study

Our three year, full time BA (Hons) Social Work programme is offered at our Canterbury campus, and successful completion of the programme leads to eligibility to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

We offer an MA in Social Work – upon successful completion of which you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) – and an MSc/PgDip in Mental Health and Approved Mental Health Professional Practice.

Research

Many of the teaching team are actively involved in research and scholarship, including presenting at national and international conferences, undertaking empirical research and writing for peer-reviewed journals.
