The Centre for Work-Based Learning and Continuing Development works with both students and stakeholders offering a range of study options at different levels. Find out more from those we work with, about their experiences of studying with us and how their studies have helped them develop their own or their workforce's skills.
"I've learnt an awful lot on this module considering I haven't to date managed to attend a formal session. I've finally got to grips with critical reflection."
"The Centre for Work-Based Learning and Continuing Development are supportive and flexible to design workshops to meet needs of local organisations. They ensure that the quality of the training meets local requirements and is of the highest standards."
"I am one of the Team Co-ordinators for School Nursing and also workplace mentor for two of the staff who are currently undertaking the Health and Social Care Foundation Degree with the Centre.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say what a positive experience this has been for both of the staff. Both have grown with so much confidence within the department and have thrived from the innovative teaching and the very positive time they have spent undertaking this course. It has been a real pleasure to watch both of them flourish academically and professionally whilst on this course and the value of learning they have been able to bring back to their jobs is phenomenal."
"I will be forever grateful for the support during my year out due to the death of my mother as well as the support I received when I came back.
My time at Christ Church has been exciting, informative and most of all a pleasure. I never believed that I would be able to study further education after being out of it for so long.
The course has opened up my career opportunities in ways I never expected. My self confidence in my abilities was next to nothing. However, during my time at Christ Church, it has rocketed and I feel for the first time that I could be capable of achieving anything I set my mind upon.
Christ Church is a fantastic University and I am looking forward to progressing further next term when I enrol to top up to a degree.
Once again, a big thank you to you and your department which includes all the staff, for an exciting, educational and professional developmental journey."
"I just wanted to let you know that the Negotiated Learning module completed in the summer has been invaluable on my Masters journey; much more so than I would have realised. It allowed me to research and, more importantly, analyse the Feeding Tool that I had considered researched enough until I took this module!
The opportunity to deeply think critically about it has prepared me for the hurdles that arise when trying to implement it in practice and has led on to being a study for the leadership module.
Many thanks for your encouragement to take this subject forward and hopefully it will bear fruit in practice eventually."
