Worked within the NHS between 1978 - 2011 as a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities. In 2005 joined a steering group at CCCU to set up the PG Dip Speech and Language Therapy programme which was validated in 2006 and is a collaborative programme delivered by CCCU and University of Greenwich. In 2009 became a part-time Senior Lecturer/Placement Lead on the PG Dip Speech and Language Therapy Programme. I teach on Adult Learning Disability and Social Communication Skills.

I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the East Kent Placement Educators SIG and the National Placement Leads group.
