An understanding of mathematics and statistics is useful for most disciplines. This guide highlights the resources available to you in the university libraries.

Books

You can use LibrarySearch to search for the books you need. Just type in a few words from the title plus the surname of the author(s) into the search box. If you get stuck – please ask!

You will find the majority of the mathematics and statistics book collection at classmark 510-519 which include dictionaries of mathematics, calculus, teaching mathematics to others, statistical methods and SPSS mauals. In addition, at classmark CR 510 in the Curriculum Resources collection you can find teaching resources including primary and secondary maths workbooks. (Both classmarks are located on the second floor of Augustine House. At Medway, the mathematics books can be found in the Silent Study Zone in the Drill Hall Library).

Use LibrarySearch to find books and e-books about mathematics and/or statistics and your subject area. For instance, you could try a search for ‘mathematics computing’ or ‘mathematics psychology’ or ‘statistics nursing’.

Remember to note down the classmark and check the different areas housing the 7-day loan and 4-week loans.

Remember also that books may be available as e-books as well as in print format and the details for these may appear separately in LibrarySearch.
