We're looking for volunteers to uncover and create a queer legacy using our archival materials, challenging and recontextualizing them in order to make a queer zine to be published for Canterbury Pride 2024.

We will conduct the initial research in March and April. If you are interested email us on library.canterbury@canterbury.ac.uk.

For the first stage of the project, we will be looking into our archive to find a selection of material that will inspire queer zine making. These dates are:

  • Weds 13 March (12 – 4pm) Location: Bridge Seating Area in Augustine House
  • Friday 15 March (12-4pm) Location: AH1.21 in Augustine House
  • Weds 24 April (12 – 4pm) Location: AH1.21

And then the Zine Making Workshops will take place:

  • Weds 1st May (10am – 12) Location: AH2.23
  • Weds 8th May (10am – 12) Location: AH2.23
  • Weds 15th May (10am – 12) Location: AH2.23

Participants are welcome to turn up to any of the research sessions or zine making sessions, with no previous zine making or research experience necessary. Just sign up by emailing library.canterbury@canterbury.ac.uk. and letting us know which sessions you can attend.
