Celebrate the end of term and the onset of Christmas in words and music to lift the spirits with seasonal cheer: festive fun stuff, spiced with merriment.

Once again, we will be celebrating the end of term and the onset of Christmas in words and music to lift the spirits with some seasonal cheer: festive fun stuff, spiced with merriment; a perfect farewell to a busy term, and welcome to a Christmas holiday.

You will be entertained by words and music performed by the talented students from our Music, Dance, Drama, Performing Arts and Musical Theatre courses. And as an added bit of festive fun, our very own Christ Church Hoodeners will come a-calling, reviving an age-old, house-calling custom specially made for this event.

Catchy tunes will jostle with sublime choral music from the Chamber Choir and the University Singers while the Big Band will set your toes tapping - a lively feast of pieces to entertain, amuse, and give pause for thought. And we will be encouraging you to raise your voices – and your glasses – in noisy song, in a few of the fine old carols which don’t feature so often in the Candlelight Service.

Mulled wine, juice and mince pies will be on offer when you arrive, all included in your ticket price. Come and sit around a table with friends old and new, and taste some Christmas cheer.

This is an in-venue event taking place in Augustine Hall, in Augustine House, the University Library.
