Global climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world. Many national and local governments, and many organisations have declared Climate Emergencies, including Christ Church.

This short course is designed to teach you about climate change, carbon footprinting and ways you can make conscious changes and choices to reduce your carbon footprint. Delivered over two weeks, with approximately one hour of self-study and a three hour interactive workshop each week. Successful completion of all the course material will earn you certification from the Carbon Literacy Trust.

What does Carbon Literacy Training entail?

Using a combination of presentations, videos, discussions and quizzes, Carbon Literacy Training aims to promote:

“An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”

If you are interested in taking this course, you can watch a quick introduction to climate science. You can also use the WWF Footprint Calculator to have a go at calculating your personal carbon footprint, and compare it to the national average.
