10th Baby Room Conference

Pedagogies of Care for Children from Birth to Two
Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May 2019

An international conference in the heart of historic Canterbury, England

Confirmed speakers include: Professor Cathy Nutbrown, Eva Johansson, Laura Piper and Jane O’Rourke

The programme will include keynote lectures, research and practice presentations, workshops, discussions, exhibits, networking and social events.

This conference is for anyone with a professional interest in the care, learning and development of our youngest children including:

  • early childhood services - educators, practitioners, teachers, pedagogues, managers, proprietors, administrators, directors, apprentices, trainees and volunteers
  • advisory and affiliated agencies in education, health, social care, parent and community liaison
  • further and higher education institutions – students, lecturers, tutors, mentors, programme directors and researchers
  • providers of professional development and training
  • early childhood professional associations, organisations and charities
  • governance, inspection and administrative offices with a remit for early childhood education and care
  • organisations involved in the design / sale of environments and resources for early childhood settings

Each year we try to keep our costs to a minimum and the delegate fees as low as possible. We believe our conference is very good value for money but if the fee will prevent you from attending, please email charmian.cowie@canterbury.ac.uk

*includes morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch but does NOT include travel costs, breakfast, dinner or overnight accommodation. Friday’s social event will include refreshments. This is an optional extra – you do not have to attend the social event to attend the conference but we hope you will join us for an evening of socialising and enjoyment.

All delegates, including those who have submitted an application to present at the conference must register and pay the registration fee.
