“How do we know what’s true?” “How do know what’s real?” “Can we say whether humans are special or just biological beings that happen to be roaming around on a planet for a while?” “Can robots ever equal or surpass us?”

The LASAR Centre conducts research and provides public seminars, workshops and resources exploring the relationships between science, religion and other disciplines in education. Our workshops explore Big Questions to do with meaning, purpose and the nature of reality and also the strengths, relevance and limitations of the disciplines we consider. Some current examples include ‘How to make sense of evolution and creation’ for primary school students, ‘Can a robot care or only help people to care?’ for lower secondary school students and ‘Will we ever defy the laws of physics?’ for sixth-formers.
