I am the Programme Director for the Education Foundation Year and a Senior Lecturer in Education in the School of Childhood and Education Sciences. I am also a registered nurse and work part time in various settings including residential homes for young people with severe complex needs. I have taught in a variety of institutions including the NHS and Further Education Colleges. My current teaching responsibilities include various undergraduate programmes across all campuses.
Research and knowledge exchange
My research focus is currently on widening participation for non-traditional university students with specific reference to resilience and emotional well being. I have additional interests in environmental issues, esoteric philosophy and feminist methodologies.
