I’m currently the Phase Lead for Primary and Early Years at CCCU. I taught across the primary age ranges in schools in inner London and have held responsibility for curriculum, behaviour and teacher development before joining CCCU. As well as being a qualified teacher, I trained as an Arts Therapist specialising in Drama and Movement at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in order to better support and understand some of the very challenging children I worked with. I have also been the Programme Director for the MA in Special Needs and Inclusion at CCCU and the Programme Director for Teach First in the East of England. I am currently studying for an educational doctorate with a particular interest in policy and curriculum development in Initial Teacher Education and how these ultimately impact children’s education and life opportunities.
Research and knowledge exchange
I am currently leading a research and development group on Inclusion. We have a number of areas of focus: Developing both a discreet and embedded approach. Reviewing teacher efficacy and attitudes to inclusive classrooms as well as more broadly looking at our offer to students.
