Profile summary

I  started my career as a Secondary School History teacher and began teachng Adut leaners about 12 years ago- initially teaching History on an Acces scourse at a local FE college.I  have been working with  FE teachers ( in a partner College of CCCU)  for a decade and joined the CCCU PCET team in 2008.

I have taught on the Teaching Awards ( now the Diploma) courses taking the postion of academic lead for Module 3 ( learning Theories) and have just taken responsibilitiy for Module 2 ( Planning and Assessing). I act as a Link Tutor and have developed a close working realtionship with staff and students at Hadlow College. I am about to work with students graded as needed improvement in their end of year observations to enable them to develop key teaching skills.

I also teach and have a tutorial role  on the PGCE programme and have particuarly enjoyed developing some successful workshops on behaviour management.

Research and knowledge exchange

I hope to do some research on behaviour in FE colleges this year by embedding a questionnaire into the Module 2 CLIC learn site. This should provide some useful data from practising teachers which will inform our porgramme development in future years.
