Profile summary

I am a committed educationalist currently working as a senior lecturer in Religious Education at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) on the Secondary and 7-14 RE PGCE programmes continuing the role in teacher training that has been common thread throughout my work as a teacher in schools.

I'm currently engaged in a research project with NICER and am keen to begin on the PhD programme this year.

More widely I jointly lead the Kent & Medway RE Hub alongside Dr Bob Bowie, an initiative supported by Culham St Gabriels Trust to promote and support the RE network in the local area. And also try to stay engaged with the lively world of Religious Education both online and through conferences and events.

Research and knowledge exchange

I am working on a NICER project alongside Bob Bowie and Farid Panjwani looking at how we can make better use of texts in the RE classroom. Teaching and subject expertise

I am subject lead for Secondary Religious Education and am also Module Lead for the Professional Placement Assignment on the PGCE Programme.

This year I am running an R&EE (Research and Enterprise in Education) module option for PGCEs looking at Faith school ethos.
