After over twenty years of teaching, mainly in the primary sector, in the UK and aborad, I moved into Higher Education intially at the University of East Anglia where, in addition to lecturing on the primary ITE programme, I taught undergraduates and masters courses. During my time at UEA I was involved in a number of research projects the most significant being an EU funded study on the potential of mobile technology in high schools.
Since 2011, when I moved to Canternury Christ Church Unviersity, I have taught across a range of ITE programmes focussing mainly on primary humanities, design and technology and LAOC (Learning Across and Outside the Curriculum). I also make a signifcant contribution to the BA Education Studies degree where I am currently responsible for three modules. With a colleague (Nicola Kemp) I lead the ecopedagogy research theme group. A key part of our agenda is to develop and maintain a local network of researchers and practiioners who are intersted in LINE (Learning In Natural Environments).
