Before I was appointed at Canterbury in 2000 I worked as PE teacher at one institute of Higher Education and then in 4 different school across 3 authorities in the South of England. While in Oxfordshire I also worked part time as an advisory teacher of PE working mainly with primary schools in the south of Oxfordshire.

Currently I am the subject leader for the secondary Physical Education PGCE. I also teach on the MA education where I lead a module on Effective learning, a module on Educational Policy and supervise some stage three students dissertations. In addition I now teach on two of the EdD modules. In the last year I have also worked on a school based CPD project with the department of Professional Development.

My research interests are using phenomenological psychology to make interpretations about teachers' theoris of learning, the philosophy of assessment and conducting post lesson discussion with student teachers.
