The education of teachers was the founding discipline of Christ Church. This Jubilee project seeks to investigate and highlight the immense and distinctive impact made to the Education sector by the teachers and education professionals we have trained.
We will be showcasing their contributions to schools, colleges of further education, early years settings and other areas of education. The project will celebrate the work of teachers and the ways in which they have transformed the lives of generations of children, young people and adult learners.
Life history research will capture the experiences of alumni who qualified as teachers over the last six decades, providing a rich picture of developing careers across generations within the changing education landscape. Teachers’ identities, values and views will be explored through a broader analysis using surveys, images and interviews.
From September 2022, the project team of teacher educator researchers will use their findings to create a digital archive offering a unique insight into teachers’ lives and work. The archive will be of interest to teachers, teacher educators, policy makers and all those with a shared love of the education sector.
