Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving Programme

Canterbury Cathedral and North Holmes Road Campus.
We held a day of thanksgiving and celebration on Friday 30 September 2022.
The day commenced with a Service of Thanksgiving in Canterbury Cathedral at 10:30am for all colleagues, students, governors, former staff, alumni, honoraries and invited stakeholders, and their families. The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, our University Chancellor and Archbishop of Canterbury, gave the sermon. A programme of the service can be downloaded on this page.
The band at the service was directed by James Dean and comprised the following individuals: Drums - Paul Townsend, Bass Guitar - Tom Brace, Guitar - Cavan Matcham, Keyboards - Tom Rayfield, Vocals - Frankie Moore, Vocals - Hollie Heard, Vocals - Tom Pickett, Vocals - Tom Gerrelli. Members of our university community also performed dance at the event, with the following taking part: Meghan Evans (BA Dance Education), Korina Oltran (MA Graphic Design), Milly Bennett, Josie Parker (tutor), Angela Pickard (tutor).
Reception
The service was followed by a celebratory reception, from approximately 12pm onwards, in Abbey Square, on our North Holmes Campus, Canterbury. There was a Jubilee Street Party themed lunch, live music and a showcase of our University, that included a Jubilee exhibition, archaeology exhibition of our history, prison tours and a choir concert.
