As part of our Diamond Jubilee series of Public Lectures, Jo Brand held a public lecture with us on Tuesday 1 November, 6pm. Watch it back below!

The event proved hugely popular, maxing out the capacity of our Augustine Hall theatre and also gaining a large number of online viewers for the duration of the lecture. If you missed the event, or simply want to watch the hugely entertaining lecture back, you can do so below.

Jo says: “This lecture is about making more of a fuss, getting decent care, some proper respect and irritating people. This is not an academic lecture, because I am a comedian, so lower your expectations. And there might be some jokes.”

Jo Brand is a hugely popular comedian, writer and actor. Since making her start on the alternative comedy scene in the 80's, Jo is now best known for regular TV appearances on QI, Have I Got News for You and Would I Lie to You?, as well on radio shows such as The News Quiz and Just a Minute. Since 2014, she has hosted The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice. Jo went to school in Kent and was a psychiatric nurse for ten years, before beginning her career in comedy.
