NSS is a national, annual survey of final year undergraduates studying at universities across the UK and enables you to let us know what we are doing well and how we can enhance the student experience.

It is designed to gain feedback about your learning experience during your entire programme at Christ Church, so that improvements can be made in future and the University can be benchmarked against others. You will be able to provide positive and negative comments about your experience, and will be asked to rate, using a score of 1-5 (with 5 being “definitely agree”), in eight core categories:

  • Teaching on my Course
  • Learning Opportunities
  • Assessment and Feedback
  • Academic Support
  • Organisation and Management
  • Learning Resources
  • Learning Community
  • Student Voice

The survey only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete online and all responses are anonymous.

The Survey is now closed.

  • This is your opportunity to tell us about your overall experience at University, and how you rate your programme, so we can understand what is working well as well as make changes and improvements to your student experience.
  • The survey is run nationally, so what you say can impact on the university’s league table position and can help other students compare Christ Church with other universities.
  • Your feedback could feed into how the government monitors and assesses the university’s teaching quality (through the Teaching Excellence Framework).
  • Incentives – as a thank you for taking part there are a variety of incentives including cash prize draws.

NSS results are used by us to help enhance the student experience. They are also used nationally to compile university league tables to help future students choose a university. The results will also feed into the government’s Teaching Excellence Framework, which monitors and assesses the quality of teaching in England’s universities.

You will receive an email from Ipsos Mori (the independent organisation which runs the survey) with a link to the NSS website.

You should be eligible for the NSS if you:

  • Are in your final year of study on a programme longer than one year leading to undergraduate credits (FTE greater than 100) or a qualification such as Bachelor Degree, Foundation Degree, Higher Education Certificate or Diploma.
  • Are on a more flexible part-time programme (whose final year cannot be easily predicted) and in your fourth year of study.
  • Are repeating your penultimate year (you won’t be surveyed again in your final year. If you were surveyed in 2018 you will not be surveyed in 2019)

You can opt out at any time by contacting Ipsos Mori directly. You will not receive any further emails or personalised messages but will be included in the response rate.
