Latest updates

The health and safety of our community are our most important priorities, and we’re doing all we can to ensure that our students, staff and wider communities are supported and informed.

We continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation very closely, following advice from the government, and Public Health England, as well as guidance from the Department for Education and Universities UK. On these pages you can find the latest guidance, advice and information. This includes the measures we’ve put in place across our campuses and the guidance we’re giving students and staff to promote health and safety at all times.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of strengthened COVID-19 guidelines in response to the Omicron variant, we are putting in place some temporary precautionary measures.  All students, staff and visitors are asked to wear a face covering when inside all University buildings unless medically exempt.

This includes teaching spaces, library, labs and offices. It also includes catering areas, except for when eating and/or drinking.

Exemptions include:

  • Those who cannot wear a face covering for health, age or equality reasons.
  • When you are on your own in a room, you are able to remove your face covering. If someone else enters the same space, both people would need to wear face coverings.

All scheduled on campus learning and teaching activities are continuing as planned. All front-facing services remain open including the Library, Student Wellbeing, IT Hub, i-zone and catering outlets.
